Kung Fu Panda Analysis

Exaggeration: The pandas expressions are exaggerated as he realises that he has landed on some fire works. This is part of the anthropomorphism that helps the viewer to empathise with the character. There is also a lot of red in this shot prompting the viewer to anticipate a fiery explosion.
Staging: The staging in this shot is effective because the camera is behind the running snow leopard, making the viewer feel like they are running with the action. Secondary movement: The leopards jaw falls open while he is running.
Exaggeration: The mouth falling open is also exaggerated to add drama but not so much as to detract from the realism of the style.
Squash and stretch: As the panda is jolted along by the fireworks his face squashes and stretches giving a more realistic feeling.
Exaggeration: The pandas eyes are distorted so they look in different directions this shows that he is out of control
Timing: Is slowed down, I think this is because when you are flying or swinging the fear or excitement can make it feel like time is moving slower, this helps us to empathise with the character and feel like we are in the action.
Appeal: The trailing lights of the fire works look nice adding appeal as do the traditional buildings and realistic trees in the back ground. This setting is reminiscent of the Wuxia films like Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon.
